When designing and building this home, we made a decision to not “rush” our selection and purchase of the furniture, necessary to build the home of our dreams. 

 

Upon entering our home the foyer and entrance way have been opened 5 extra feet allowing for a clear view of our dining and great rooms as well as the golf course behind our home. A beautiful green glass table was custom made for the hallway wall.

 

Our dining room furniture was designed and custom built by Ara-Kreiss of California. Each of the 4 chairs are suede with nail head accents. The dining table was created with tumbled marble and placed upon a circular custom made pedestal.  A circular rug was designed to blend with the circular tumbled marble table. A Hooker handprinted buffet is located in the dining area. In addition, a handpainted Hooker China Cabinet is located just off of the dining room proper, allowing for keepsake items to be displayed. Floral arrangements for the dining area as well as the entire house were created by “From Roehem With Love” which is quite possibly the finest florist in the Palm Beach area. The total investment in the dining room chairs, table and miscellaneous furniture pieces was approximately $10,000.

 

In the great room a custom made carpet and coffee table as well as a suede sofa and leather chair face a specially made television and entertainment center. This entertainment center was imported from Italy and was taken to a fine cabinet maker in the Palm Beach area, where the shelving for each piece of equipment was custom made, so that no wires or extra equipment would be showing. A single URC MX-980 Remote Control operates all of the equipment in this entertainment center. One remote controls all. The audio system is the highest quality B & W system available today. Two Ara-Kreiss side chairs sit on either side of the entertainment center.  The total cost of the furnishings and equipment in the Great Room are in excess of $14,000. 

 

The structure leading into what was a screened in porch was widened and raised to supply a beautiful view of the gardens and golf course. The floor of the porch was raised to match the great room floor and new Florida Glass Sliders were installed to create a highly functional area. Ceiling fans were installed. At each end of the 24 foot area you will find custom made desks and work areas. These areas are great for working at home or used as two computer centers. Handprinted wooden files and file cabinets line the back walls allowing my wife and myself to work in our home when necessary. The total cost of the work in the porch and office area was in excess of $10,000.

 

The laundry room was completely remodeled, removing a metal door and replacing it with a wooden door to match the rest of the home. A new General Electric washer and dryer were installed as well as a large laundry sink and cabinets.  To our knowledge this is the only Terrace Condo Home in Quail Ridge that has both a washer-dryer and laundry sink in the laundry area. The work completed in the laundry room including washer, dryer and laundry sink was approximately $4,000.

 

In many Quail Ridge Renovations, owners try to save money by keeping the original kitchen and bathroom cabinets and repainting them. In our home, we completely removed all original cabinets and appliances. The refrigerator was moved from it’s original position, which blocked the entrance into the kitchen, and placed at the far end of the kitchen, opening up the entire entrance to the kitchen area. A complete set of custom made solid wood, kitchen cabinets were installed throughout the kitchen and bath areas. No old original cabinets are found in our home. New lighting and a kitchen ceiling fan was installed.  General Electric Profile Series Stainless Steel appliances were purchased. The approximate cost of the kitchen cabinets and upgrade plus appliances was in excess of $24,000.

 

The guest suite, which is totally separate from the Master Bedroom, was entirely renovated. Wool Berber carpet was installed throughout the Guest Bedroom Suite. Again a complete entertainment center including a Samsung Television, Denon Audio Video Receiver, A Sony DVD Blue-ray player and Bose Audio Speakers were installed. Again a URC MX-950 Remote Control was programmed to operate the entire entertainment Center in the Guest Suite. A hand painted Roll Top writing desk is included with the suite as well as a matching Bedroom Set. Just recently a new Tempurpedic Mattress and Box Springs were purchased for the suite.

 

Leading from the bedroom to the Guest Bath is 16 feet of custom installed closets allowing guests, more than adequate storage space.

 

The Guest Bathroom contains a custom made hand painted cabinet with Marble Top and tempered glass shower enclosure. When the guest Bathroom door and bedroom door are closed, the Guest Suite is totally private so that your company will feel completely relaxed and at home.  The total cost of the Guest Suite and Bath was approximately $9,000.

 

The Master Bedroom contains 100% wool Berber and a collector’s item Solid Cherry Wood Bob Timberlake Bedroom Suit.  A corner Hooker Entertainment Cabinet is completely outfitted with a Samsung TV, Denon DVD player, Denon Audio Video Receiver and high quality Altec Speakers. Once again, the URC MX-950 remote was purchased and programmed to operate all of the components with only one piece of equipment.

 

Master Bedroom Bath was completely renovated and new custom built cabinets were installed with a Milk Colored Marble Top. A tempered glass shower door and wall were installed to give the bath an open feeling. The Master Bedroom Closet also contains a custom made closet design. The total cost of the Master Bedroom, Bathroom and Closet was in excess of $16,000.

 

As we previously stated, no shortcuts were taken in creating this lovely home. Many furniture pieces and custom made cabinetry took in excess of 12-14 weeks for completion and delivery. Time was not our concern, quality was!
